| ![]() The High Road Words and Music Kathryn Roberson Stephen Robert Cass © 1998 Solid Walnut Music / ASCAP All Rights Reserved. The road that many choose (just ask me, I've been down this road before) You can always wander in the haze Never mind what you would lose You could always follow the whims of this world But what will it mean in the hereafter? So take the high road and the Lord will be your guide It's a high climb, He's walkin' by your side To a high sight, tell the Lord when you decide Take the high road home Take the high road home When the low road seems the better way The body will rejoice (it just loves it when we do this kind of thing) And the devil's ways seem fun for today When sin seems like the choice But sooner or later your heart will grow cold When you've led your life without a reason When the high road calls on you to move Just pack your bags and go (just hear the Father when He calls) But listen carefully before you do Don't do things for the show 'Cause sooner or later He's callin' you home And then it's way too late to share a reason
